Lee Enfield Sniper Rifle No 4 Long Branch 1943 c/w RARE REL 5X Scope
This highly collectible Rifle has a RESERVE bid of $6500.
A 1943 Long Branch Lee-Enfield No. 4 sniper rifle equipped with a 5X Canadian Research Enterprises
Ltd. (REL) scope is a highly sought after military surplus piece.
Only a very small, documented number of these rifles were originally factory converted during World
War II, making authentic models exceptionally rare and valuable.
This is a EXCELLENT condition Lee Enfield LONG BRANCH 1943 No 4 Model made for Canadian
Military.
Comes complete with a REL 5X (5 Power) Scope.
The REL (Research Enterprise Ltd) scope is mounted to a No 4 Enfield with a Long Branch mount.
Attached are some pictures from the reference book Without Warning by Clive M Law who details the
Scope and some history. Very little data is available for this setup due to rarity.
In this book there is all new information on Small Arms Limited (Long Branch) and their experimental
rifles as well as information on Research Enterprises Limited and the experimental scopes they
developed for the Long Branch rifles.
Overall condition of the rifle is excellent - Wood stock is excellent and all original - Bluing is at 100%
throughout all exposed surfaces and on the Magazine.
Stamping is clear and all matches - stamp states ASE 40-6 on Bolt Handle and Stock band. On the
left hand side of receiver is No 4 Long Branch 1943 plus some other words hidden by scope mount.
The stock has on underside of wrist a C Broad Arrow stamp plus 8/32 and one I cant read.
The 8/32 mark is actually a Long Branch inspectors mark found on most Long Branch rifles of the
period.
This gun probably did not see any Military service.
On the cheek riser there is a small crack about 1.5 inches (see picture) and a scrape to the finish.
Otherwise condition is overall a 9.5/10.

When shipping is required for any purchase an additional charge will occur the day the item has been shipped. We ship mainly at cost via Canada Post. We aim to have items out the door within 15 business days after auction close.
Please note that due to restrictions we will ship all Ammunition by courier Canada wide - No ammo can be shipped outside of Canada.. We will use whatever coourier serves your location and is the least expensive....
We are NOT responsible for damage during shipping. We don't guarantee delivery times and will not refund shipping charges for parcels that are not delivered by a specific date.
Items over $200 will be insured and a signature 18+ is required (unless under $200 or going by letter mail).
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN ON LOTS THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO SHIP TO YOU.
Shipping charges will be determined after preparation as we need to pack, weigh and measure each box. Your credit card will be charged this amount before the parcel leaves.

Recurring problem payers will be banned from future sales. Bidders are responsible for full payment of all their purchases at the drop of the hammer. Our Consignors are paid based on the hammer price. We will attempt to charge your credit card partial amounts until the amount is paid in full. Any purchase which has not been fully paid may be forfieted. There will be no refund of partial payments. Firearm rateings in the online listing are subjective and are of visual opinion, no mechanical inspection or test firing is undertaken by KOS. Any concern must be addressed with a recognized gunsmith prior to firing any firearm.
CANADIAN BIDDERS: Firearms, Magazuines and Ammunition purchasers require a valid P.A.L. (Possession and Acquisition License). All restricted and prohibited firearms are registered with the Canadian Firearms Program and will be transferred to the purchaser following the completion of the sale and receipt of full payment provided the purchaser has the correct licensing documents.. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to determine that they have the correct category of license for the intended purchase prior to bidding. You will require a P.A.L. for all Prohibited/Restricted/Non-Restricted category firearms. No P.A.L. is required for Antique category firearms.
Ammunition and Firearms must be shipped to an address on file with the CFO. Ammunition and Firearms cannot be shipped in the same box.
Ammunition will now be shipped exclusively with UPS. We must ship Ammunition to your address on file with the CFO. Please ensure that you have a UPS delivery agent in your area prior to bidding, as UPS does not cover all rural areas.
Any items that are purchased that we are not able to deliver/ or you don’t have a valid license to possess will be sold at the next opportunity, any money paid by buyer will be forfieted..
As we are selling Firearms and Ammunition it is imperative that bidders/customers provide us their correct information. We require your full correct name as shown on your PAL, PAL number, date of birth, the mailing address that is associated with your PAL.
U.S.A./INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS:
Please be advised that we cannot ship any sort of firearm directly to USA or International buyers. Buyers must use a third-party exporter for these items.
We cannot ship firearms, receivers, ammunition, primers, magazines, primed brass, air guns or grenades to USA or International buyers. These cannot be shipped by us or an exporter. Do not bid on these items.

You have sole responsibility for your purchases. You and or your importing FFL will be required to file paperwork with BATF in order to be able to import an item. Please check with your FFL and/or BATF regarding import of specific items. Not all firearms are able to be imported/exported into the USA. Note that any items that have been purchased but are deemed not importable/exportable will be forfited and no refunds will be given.
You have sole responsibility for your purchases. Please check with your governing body and Borderview to ensure your intended purchase is importable, as well as the third party exporter to ensure they will be able to export to your country, this should be done prior to bidding. Not all firearms are able to be imported/exported Internationally.
If you are unable to complete the transaction within 6 months, the lots will be sold at the next auction. Any monies paid will be forieted.
ALL BIDDERS:
BUYERS PREMIUM & TAXES: All items purchased online are subject to a 14% buyers premium. Canadian Taxes will be charged at the rate applicable to the shipping destination. Item(s) purchased and shipped outside of Canada are not subject to Canadian taxes, however you will be responsible for customs or duty charges.

All Firearms and Ammunition are sold as Collector lots only. Fitness to fire or otherwise discharge the Firearm or Ammunition is expressly denied by KOS Auctions. A competent Gunsmith should be consulted before attempting to use or fire any Firearm or Ammunition. The Purchaser expressly acknowledges and agrees that in no event shall KOS Auctions or its associated companies be liable for any damages including without limitation any compensatory, incidental or consequential damages.

If we sell firearms that have been previously de-activated by others, these may not meet current or exportable standards. Firearms de-activated by others may or may not have a de-activation letter available. We are not able to search for letters for firearms de-activated by others.
