Australian military magazine fed bolt action Cadet School rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured circa 1942. Imported by JJCO of New York, New York with small import marks on the charging bridge. Features a parkerized finish, 25.2" barrel, raised patridge front sight, shrouded leaf type rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, metal nosecap with bayonet lug & protective front sight ears, single barrel band, serrated trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, charge loading bridge on the receiver, smooth full-length wood handguard & forend with provisions for volley sights, and straight grip shoulder stock with brass disc & brass trapdoor buttplate. The right side of the butt socket is marked "M A/LITHGOW/S.M.L.E./III*/1942." The rifle is marked with green painted accents and the left side of the butt stock in inlayed with a red marker that is stamped "17." Serial numbers match on the receiver and bolt handle. Rifle retains approximately 70% of it's thinned finish showing light even wear. Action is smooth, the bore appears very good with what appears to be some debris near the muzzle and the wood stocks are good. Condition is NRA Good. ***C&R Firearm*** From The John F Sukey Collection
