Australian military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured circa 1917. Features a blued finish, 25.2" barrel, raised patridge front sight, shrouded leaf type rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, receiver mounted Parker Hale 6A adjustable rear sight with variable aperture diopter, metal nosecap with bayonet lug & protective front sight ears, single barrel band, serrated trigger, detachable 10 round magazine with cut off on the right side of the receiver, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, charge loading bridge on the receiver, smooth full-length wood hand guard & forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass disc & brass trapdoor buttplate. Includes the OEM parts to convert the rifle to standard configuration when the receiver sight is removed. The right side of the butt socket is marked "A" inside a seven pointed star/"LITHGOW/SHT.LE/III" inside a shield & "1917." The brass disc is marked "MA/H" and the barrel is stamped "H" over the chamber. Serial numbers match on the receiver, barrel and bolt handle. Rifle retains approximately 80% of it's blued finish showing moderate wear & thinning. Action is smooth, the bore is very good and the wood stocks are near fine.
