Lithgow SMLE No 1 Mk III* DP Marked Rifle
1942 vintage Australian military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, that has been down-graded to Drill Purpose. Imported by JJCO of New York, New York with small import marks on the charging bridge. Features a parkerized finish, 25.2" barrel, raised patridge front sight, removed rear sight, receiver mounted LANE adjustable sight with variable aperture diopter, metal nosecap with bayonet lug & protective front sight ears, single barrel band, serrated trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, charge loading bridge on the receiver, smooth full-length wood hand guard & forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass trapdoor buttplate. The right side of the butt socket is marked "[broad arrow]M A/LITHGOW/S.M.L.E./III*/1942." and the receiver is marked "A[broad arrow]F," "F T R" & "DP." Serial numbers match on the receiver, barrel, bolt handle and nose cap. Rifle retains approximately 70% of it's parkerized finish showing light scattered surface rust on the receiver.
