Rifle, Bolt-action. British/Canadian Military issued Infantry rifle. Manufactured in Long Branch, Ontario, Canada. Considered rare due to the fact only about 14,000 Mk1's were manufactured. Half of those were dated 1941. 25" barrel, with fixed front sight post, with sight protectors. Flip-up, elevation adjustable Mk III rear sights. Fed from a detachable 10-rd magazine. Left side of receiver marked No 4 Mk 1* Long Branch, 1942. Blued metal finish. 2-piece, smooth wood stock, and 2-piece wood hand guards. Some numbers, and proofs on the wood. Serrated slab cocking lever at the rear of the bolt. Thumb safety on top of left stock band, Magazine release inside of the triggerguard. Steel butt plate, with trapdoor. Sling swivels. Importer marked, Century Arms, VT, on the bottom of the barrel at muzzle. Bore appears good/bright, but a little dirty. Action is smooth/tight. Metal, and wood have the usual scratches/dings/dents, found on surplus military rifles. nothing serious. Magazine is present. A rare rifle in good shape. NRA Condition-Very Good. Modern Firearm.
