WWII era New Zealand military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured in Canada circa 1942. Features a blued refinish, 25.2" barrel with integral bayonet lugs, shrouded patridge front sight, receiver mounted flip-up “L” dual aperture rear sight marked for 300 & 600 yards, two barrel bands, serrated trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, sling swivels, integral charge loading guide cuts in the receiver, grooved full-length wood handguard, smooth full-length forend and straight grip shoulder stock with metal trapdoor buttplate. Matching serial numbers are found on the receiver, bolt handle, magazine and forend. The left side of butt socket is marked “N[arrow]Z/24413/14L2402” and the left side of the receiver is marked “No 4 Mk I*/LONG BRANCH/1942”. Rifle retains approximately 85% of its blued refinish showing little wear with old pitting under the finish and scattered spots of heavy rust. Action is smooth, the two land bore is near mint with corrosion around the muzzle and the wood stocks are near fine. Condition is NRA Good. ***C&R Firearm***
