The African mother elephant, largest female land mammal on the planet is the inspiration for Lorenzo Ghiglieri’s “A MOTHER’S INSTINCT” PAINTED BRONZE. The African Elephant has a longer pregnancy than any other mammal: almost 22 months. Cows usually give birth to one calf every two to four years. Maybe that is why the elephant-bond between mother and child is so strong, and why there is no other primal force as powerful as an elephant mother's instinct. Lorenzo is known as a representational sculptor of Eskimo, Indians, and wildlife - modeling in a style he relates to, baroque realism, in a language all can understand. Commissions have included life-sized bronzes of an eagle and a striding Abraham Lincoln, as well as "The Genesis of Love." Ronald Reagan was also presented with a Ghiglieri statuette. Minimum Bid: $3000.00
