Includes two Finnish army helmets. The Finnish military used refurbished German Model 1916/17 helmets from the 1920s through the Second World War and into the post-WWII era. They were the principal type of helmet used in the Winter War of 1939-40. The Finns painted them either gray of green. One is a German M16 painted a matte gray with a 9 Tongue leather liner, no chinstrap. the inside of left skirt has the German stamp "L64" with Bell. (Manufacturer Lindenberg and the shell size (64 cm). The other is a Austrian M17 painted a OD green with a 3 lobe liner, two still have the horse hair padding, leather chinstrap. Inside of right skirt is stamped "GB66". GB is the code for the company Brüder Gottlieb und Brauchbar located in Brunn (Brno). They were a primary manufacturer of steel helmets for the Austro-Hungarian Empire during WWI. size 66 cm. The outside crown is stamped "B 113" (Finnish military property or inventory control numbers)
