Lot of Two (2) WWII U.S. Flare Pistols: 1.) M8 Pyrotechnic Pistol with Aircraft Mount, 37mm, 4'' barrel, originally with a blue/black finish, factory checkered black plastic grips, complete with aircraft wall mount by E.V.C. Co. Right side of the pistol is marked ''CECV/1943/U.S. Property/Pistol Pyrotechnic M-8''. The flare pistol is in fair overall condition; frame and barrel with a mostly dark brown patina and is moderately pitted. Maker's marks are partially obscured but mostly legible. Grips are good with small indentations, checkering is dirty and needs to be cleaned; no cracks or major blemishes. Action functions properly. Mount is good. Outer side retains approx. 50% original blue finish with some light surface rust; opposite side retains most of the original blue finish; the date has been ground off of the mount. 2.) International Flare Signal Co., Tippecanoe City, Ohio, 37mm flare pistol, 8'' barrel, brass frame, top-break action, integral grips and lanyard ring. Frame and barrel are both numbered ''47''. Condition is very good. The barrel is a combination gunmetal gray and brown patina with some intermittent mild pitting. Brass shows even toning, moderate signs of age and wear; cast grips with maker's name and checkering are clear and defined. Hammer and sides of the trigger with areas of corrosion.
