Lot of Five (5) U.S. Bayonets with Scabbards: 1.) Shortened model 1942 1905E1, by Utica, 9-7/8'' blade, numbered on the crosspiece and upper tang, U.S. marked scabbard with metal tip. Condition is fair with a noticeable chip to the cutting edge, maker's marks are clear. Bayonet does not fit all of the way inside the scabbard. 2.) Shortened model 1905 1905E1 bayonet by Springfield modified and stamped ''UFH'' on the opposite side, 9-1/2'' spear point blade, dated ''1916'', numbered on crosspiece, with U.S. marked green scabbard. Condition is fair, blade with dark spotting and some areas of fine pitting, clear maker's marks, grips need a thorough cleaning, scabbard is good as repainted. 3.) Shortened model 1905 1905E1 bayonet by RIA, 9-3/4'' beak-point blade, dated ''1909'', numbered on the crosspiece, in green U.S. marked scabbard. Condition is good, blade shows additional sharpening and intermittent dark spotting, clear maker's marks. Scabbard is very good. 4.) Model M1 by Utica, 9-3/4'' parkerized blade, with green U.S. marked scabbard. Condition is fair, blade and crosspiece with scattered spots of moderate pitting, clear maker's marks. Scabbard is very good. 5.) Model 1917 by Remington, 17'' blade, with steel tipped leather scabbard. Condition is good, blade with some reddish oxidation, mainly at the tip, maker's marks are clear. Scabbard is fair, metal pieces with considerable pitting and light surface rust, backside with a small tear, otherwise stitching is nice. Est.: $350-$550/lot.
