Lot of Six (6) 20th Century African Kaskara and Reproduction European Daggers: 1.) Replica of high medieval or early renaissance dagger with forward-sloped guard and spherical pommel, both of brass; wood handle; 19.25" overall. Marked "MRL 1986" (museum replicas limited) under the guard. Scabbard is wood with brass collar and chape. 2.) Northeast African kaskara with leather-wrapped handle, disc pommel, and cruciform hilt. Double-edged blade has 3 fullers and symmetrical markings on each side; 40.25" overall. Scabbard is leather with metal collar and chape. 3.) Northeast African short kaskara with leather-wrapped handle, disc pommel, and cruciform hilt. Double-edged blade has 3 fullers with a crown emblem above them on one side; 19.75" overall. Scabbard is of leather construction. 4.) One-handed sword with wood handle, cocked-hat pommel, and forward-swept hilt similar to Scottish halflang style. Double-edged blade with fuller and long ricasso reads "Pakistan"; 33.75" overall. 5.) Viking style broadsword with flat hilt and 5-lobed pommel. Handle is leather-wrapped, and top of guard reads "Museum Replicas Limited." Overall length is 38.75". 6.) Antiqued replica of a montante with etched blade reading "Toledo." Has cruciform hilt with finials, fishtail pommel, and wire-wrapped handle; 50.25" overall. Conditions range from good to very good, showing varying age and wear. Est.: $300-$600/lot.
