Lot of Two (2) Edged Weapons: 1) Winchester M1917 Bayonet and Scabbard, 17'' blade, 22'' overall, darkened/phosphate finish, hardwood grips, used during WWI & WWI for the 1917 rifle. Marked on left side ricasso ''1917/W'', and on right side ''(flaming bomb)/U.S.''. Condition overall is very good with over 80% of the blackened finish remaining on the blade, showing wear and patina on both sides of the tip. Sharpened blade edge also has patina along both sides. Grips are very good with darkening and light handling marks. Crossguard and pommel are good. The mortise slot is straight and the latch operates smoothly. Green leather scabbard body is marked ''GK'' with inspector stamp ''E.J.B.''. Condition is close to excellent with light wear to the chape and locket and scuffing and light handling marks to the leather body. Belt hook operates freely. 2) Cattaraugus 225Q Fighting Knife and Scabbard, 6'' blade, 10.5'' overall, bright steel finish and brown leather washer handle. Used as a fighting/utility knife by U.S. soldiers during WWII. Marked on left side ricasso ''CATTARAUGUS 225Q''. Condition overall is very good with approx. 30% of the bright finish remaining on the metal. The blade and the false edge have been heavily sharpened and there are nicks to the blade edge. Pommel and crossguard are good and fit tight. Washers are dark with handling marks. Brown leather sheath is unmarked and has an extra hole punched through the belt loop. Blade has pierced the end of the leather, condition is otherwise good with darkening and handling marks. Est.: $200-$300/lot.
