Lot of Two (2) Fraternal Swords with etched decorated blades: 1.) Knight's head pommel with recumbent lion on top of helmet, leather covered grip with stippled flat band wire wrapping, crossguard with shield and ''UR''. Blade is named to ''George Stelzle'' and is maker marked at ricasso by John Wolf, New Haven, Ct.. Scabbard is nickel plated with high relief fittings. Blade measures 28'' and overall length is 37''. Shows age, losses to the leather wrapping on the grip, rust and staining on the blade, and rust on the scabbard. Missing chain from grip to pommel. 2.) Knight's helmet pommel with eagle perched on top, black ebony wood grip, etched decorated blade with ''A.O.U.W.'' and named to ''C.A.Donnely''. Maker marked at ricasso by G.F. Foster and Son, Chicago, ILL. Blade measures 32'', overall length is 40''. Metal scabbard was originally nickel plated but has lost most of its finish, some gray paint remaining on scabbard in some areas, with rust patina overall. Blade shows age graying and light rust patina overall. Est.: $200-$300/lot.
