Lot of Two (2) Swords: (1) Reproduction M1833 U.S. Dragoon sword, with 35-1/2'' etched decorated blade and spurious Horstmann maker's mark. Grip is covered in brown leather and has a single untwisted strand of wire wrapping. The three-branch guard and backstrap are steel. Scabbard appears to be a real Austrian heavy Cavalry type without any markings. OAL is 42-1/2''. Condition is good with the blade having been artificially aged. Grip leather is scuffed and darkened. Scabbard has been wire brushed and has some light pitting. (2) Old German fencing sword with riveted basket guard and wood grip. The shortened blade measures 20'' with a single wide fuller in the middle, marked ''Made in Germany'' in an oval. Backstrap of the handle is steel. Grip is smooth wood, with remnants of a leather covering. Condition is fair with the basket guard bands bent and one broken. There is a dark rust patina on all the metal parts and blade. OAL is 26''.
