Lot of Two (2) WW1 era German Enlisted Swords, from WW1 to the 1920's: 1.) German enlisted cavalry sword without a scabbard, dated 1914, with military proofmarks on back spine of blade. Maker marked by Simson & Co. Suhl at the ricasso. Heavy steel backstrap and ''P'' guard. Unit marked on the quillion with stamped ''S.P.L. N.26'', and other crossed out unit numbers. The wide fullered blade measures 30'' long and shows sharpening and a couple of light edge nicks. Overall length is 35''. Leather covered wood grip shows a few light scuffs and scrapes, but is very good for its age. Some age graying and light stains to blade. 2.) Enlisted dress sword by W.K.& C. with king's head and knight's head logo. No scabbard. Nickel-plated handle and ''P'' guard, composite grip with triple twisted wire wrapping. Nickel-plated blade showing age and minor losses to finish. Blade measures 31.5'', overall length is 37''. Est.: $200-$400/lot.
