Maartens Safaris has over 60 years of experience in the safari industry and we are proud of our reputation for professionalism and ethics. This donation is for a five day/four night safari for a 1 on 1 rifle hunter and includes a Mountain Reedbuck, one Black Springbuck and a standard shoulder mount of either by internationally known taxidermist, Splitting Image Taxidermy. Our lodge is situated on Private Concession which is only a 1.5 hour drive from East London Airport. Our concession areas total over 100 000 ACRES of high fence and FREE range hunting. The Eastern Cape has the MOST plains game species available to hunters in South Africa and donation can be upgraded to include our Karoo concession which boosts species such as Vaal Rhebuck, Klipspringer and Springbuck slam. The bidder may also want to include wonders of the Eastern Cape such as viewing of the Big - 5, spas and excellent golf courses whilst in the region. Additional observers can be added for $350/person/day. Additional days and or hunters may be added for $450 per person per day and additional animals may be hunted per the 2019 price list. Airport transfers are $400 from East London airport, round trip. A trophy handling fee of $250 per hunter will also be payable on completion of the hunt. Our family friendly lodge and activities for a non-hunter/observer make this an ideal venue to bring your wife, friends or family. The donation also includes WIFI, a licensed professional hunter, accommodations, meals, laundry service, soft drinks/water, services of all camp staff, trackers, and skinners for one hunter over the 5 day period. This donation does not include arrival nights and road transfers, air travel, accommodations and travel charges incurred before & after the safari, personal costs, alcoholic beverages, taxidermy work, shipping of trophies to final destination, gratuities, permit fees (when applicable), area transfer fees (when applicable), any medical & hospitalization costs incurred during the contracted safari period, and VAT 15% on daily rates and extras. Shipping arrangements and payments are the responsibility of the winning bidder. HSC assumes no responsibility or liability of shipped items. No merchandise items will be shipped until HSCF receives confirmation of full payment. Merchandise will be shipped within thirty (30) days after auction closes and payment confirmation is verified.

Our mission: Preserving the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of our hunting heritage.
Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of our hunting heritage. Our members come from a diverse background and have a wide variety of hunting, fishing, outdoor and other interests. But they all have one thing in common-their passion for the outdoors, a love of hunting, a commitment to the responsible management of our national resources, the education of future generations and the responsibilities of being hunter-conservationists.
How do we effect change? HSCF has awarded 525 scholarships totaling $2.25 million dollars. We conduct youth outdoor education programs, career training, hunter education and field experiences throughout the year. HSCF has provided over $3.7 million in grants for hunter-funded conservation initiatives including research, habitat protection, species proliferation, wildlife management, water projects, urban sprawl projects, anti-poaching campaigns and other efforts.

Houston Safari Club (HSC) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to legislative and policy initiatives that may affect the future of hunting. HSC supports initiatives that protect the tradition of hunting and hunters’ rights. We take an active role in efforts to effect policy, protocols and legislation. HSC collaborates with legislators, key opinion leaders, policy groups, professional organizations and governments at home and abroad.
Live Auction Rules
§ When bidding from the floor, raise your hand high and, if necessary, stand to get the attention of the auctioneer or one of his spotters.
§ The auctioneer and his staff are responsible for the auction. Their rules must be followed explicitly. All decisions of the auctioneer will be final. Auctioneer and staff will decide any disputes regarding the bids during the live auction.
§ Asking questions ahead of time is encouraged. speak with the donor, visit their booth (if they are an exhibitor) and check their references. HSCF supports and promotes hunts and trips from donors who are members in good standing with their local and national hunting associations.
§ Some items, as components of donated hunts, may or may not be included unless specified. This may pertain to travel expenses to and from destination; hotel and meals before and after the hunt; alcoholic beverages; trophy dipping, packaging and shipping; gratuities and other items. Please review the details for each auction item.
§ Most hunt donations, unless otherwise specified, are for the 2019 season. All trips, unless otherwise specified, expire January 31, 2020. Special arrangements other than as set forth in the auction description are expressly between the donor and the auction winner.
§ Some non-hunt donations may require delivery and installation at your expense.
§ It is the bidder’s responsibility to read the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability for Goods & Services. By bidding on any auction item, whether in person or online, the bidder agrees that they have read, understand and agree to the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability.
