KNIVES WITH NATCHEZ SCRIMSHAW BASED ON "A MIDNIGHT RACE ON THE MISSISSIPPI". "A MIDNIGHT RACE ON THE MISSISSIPPI was an 1860 lithograph by Frances Flora Palmer. The bone grips of each knife have a scrimshaw of a Mississippi River Steamboat depicted in the lithograph, w/ the names "US Mail" & "ROBT. E LEE" & signed "NATCHEZ" on the Small Knife. Both are Model 5 Camp & Trail knives, 1 has 5" blade & 1 has 4" blade to be considered Small Camp & Trail knives. The blades are customized w/out recess at end of blade opposite of spine. Nickel plated single hilt & pommel have leaf engraving. Small camp knife has black Randall Made sheath. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Print of lithograph. CONDITION: knives appear near excellent. Sheath in very good condition w/ light verdigris & marks. PROVENANCE: From the personal collection of Brad Shepherd. (02-19845/MD). $800-1,200.
