PISTOL. Cal. 30 Mauser. S# 912908. Bbl. 5 1/2". Mfg. late 1930s w/ solid receiver rails & w/in S# range 890,000-921,000. All correct features including; 12 groove grips, matching # floorplate & crown U proofs. Proper salt blued finish mixed w/ appropriate in the white components. Left side of frame under grips & bottom of bbl. extension flat forward of frame have 4 assembly #. Bbl. flat area also has lg. 1 & sm. 8. Standard Mauser markings on right side of frame, over chamber plus Mauser banner on left side of frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good to very good Mauser banner marked stock. Original finish w/ no damage. Numerous light dents & handling marks throughout plus wear spot on right side near butt release. Even peppery oxidation on most of hinge. Very light beginning patina to attachment iron plus thinning at top front & sides. Noticeably well fitting to pistol; no additional markings. CONDITION: exceptional, original example w/ very good to near excellent overall appearance. Light high point wear on frame rails. Areas of finish loss on bottom of bbl. Slight finish loss on front of floorplate which also has light marks around release latch. Slight marks & scratches on front of mag.- well. 2 Sm. white scratches through Mauser banner on left side of frame. Light function wear on receiver extension under bolt stop. Light spots of flattened tops between grip grooves above attachment screw; overall about near excellent appearance. Light wear on backstrap from stock attachment. Careful scrutiny will yield occasional faint spot of peppery oxidation. Even though all sm. marks were mentioned, still an exceptional piece having original finish, no import marks & near excellent bore. (20-936/NW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
