Cal. 44 Merwin & Hulbert. S# 6309. Standard configuration w/ 7" rnd. bbl, integral pinched semi rounded front sight. 6 Shot rnd. scoop fluted cyl. Nickel finished frame w/ sliding loading gate. 2 Piece walnut grips branded w/ a star at top & initial "K" at butt. Butt of gun is stamped "K. KIDD". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Kidder Kidd's Oath of Office document swearing him in as Deputy Marshall of the Western District of Arkansas dated May 26, 1885. CONDITION: 10% nickel finish w/ balance fading to a cleaned gray appearance showing scattered spots of pitting & corrosion. Refinished grips are slightly undersized & show scattered sm. dents & marks. Action exhibits looseness, locking bolt is reluctant to retract when closing revolver. Dark bore w/ worn rifling shows scattered pitting. PROVENANCE: Collection of western gentleman. (01-19493/JS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
