COMPANY MUSKET WITH BAYONET. Cal. 75. NSN. Bbl. 39 1/4". Barrel has a simple front sight that doubles as a bayonet lug. The stationary rear sight is of bridge form. The lock has a British East India Company lion in front of the cock. Heavy brass trigger guard with Nepalese markings & butt plate marked "32 REG". Musket has 3 brass ramrod thimbles & a brass nose cap. The stock has a heavy stamp on the right side which appears to read "F 100 / 40". Iron ramrod. The bayonet is a scarce Kukri shaped bayonet as used by Nepalese state troops. The blade is approx. 17" long and the socket is 4 1/8". The top of the socket has several Sanskrit characters along with the BWI Co. heart symbol. The remainder of the bayonet socket has a crosshatched design. CONDITION: the barrel & lock have a dark, lightly mottled patina. The lock holds both full & half cock. The trigger guard & butt plate, as well as the thimbles & nose cap, have a mellow mustard patina. The stock shows great wear but no significant damage. Fair bore. The bayonet has an overall medium gray patina with light pitting on the blade. (01-23817/BF). $600-900.
