Posters have not been examined out of frames.
1) A WWI poster measuring approx. 13 1/2" x 19 1/2". Poster is depicting a winged Victory with a sword and the words “VICTORY IN SIGHT” & “PUSH ON COMMUNITY FUND CAMPAIGN NOV, 14-22”. Poster is housed in a large wooden frame measuring 19 1/2" x 29 1/2". CONDITION: poster has damage in the upper right corner and middle right side.
2) A small WWI print measuring approx. 9 1/2" x 15” depicting the Canadian trench line at Ypres. Poster is housed in a wooden frame measuring 9 7/8” x 15 3/4". CONDITION: print has a few water stains and minor foxing.
3) A WWI British Broadside measuring approx. 11 1/2" x 17 1/2". Broadside has red printing on tan paper or cardstock. The lengthy Broadside reads in part “MILITARY SERVICE ACT, 1916 EVERY UNMARRIED MAN OF MILITARY AGE Not excepted or exempted under this Act CAN CHOOSE ONE OF TWO COURSES”. CONDITION: there is minor damage in the upper right corner and the paper has darkened substantially with age.
4) A WWII US poster measuring approx. 15” x 20 1/2" in a modern frame measuring 17 1/4" x 23”. Poster depicts a US Marine that has been shot in the face and abdomen while assaulting a beachhead. Poster reads “CARELSS TALK Got there First”. CONDITION: poster was folded in quarters at one time and creases show.
5) A WWI German print measuring approx. 12” x 15” in a modern frame measuring 17” x 20”. Print depicts 3 Imperial German soldiers apparently of the 180th infantry walking on a country path 3km from town. There is a zeppelin flying in the background. Soldiers are well armed and in field service uniforms. CONDITION: print shows no damage and colors remain sharp.
6) A large book measuring approx. 16 1/4" x 21 1/4" and 1” thick. The book is titled “The Stars and Stripes” & “A COMPLETE FILE OF The Stars and Stripes Printed in France From FEBRUARY 8TH 1918 TO JUNE 13TH 1919”. The base of the cover reads “NATIONAL TRIBUNE CORPORATION WASHINGTON, DC”. CONDITION: book shows light to moderate wear on the covers with minor damage to the spine.
7) 3 Large books on the Russo-Japanese War. Books are titled “A Photographic Record of the Russo-Japanese War”, “JAPAN HER STRENGTH AND BEAUTY”, and “THE RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR”. CONDITION: books generally show moderate wear overall.
8) A Washington Post newspaper dated January 28, 1973 with the headline “War In Vietnam Officially Ends; Pact Is Signed, Cease-Fire Starts”. CONDITION: paper has yellowed and some edges are frayed.
9) A pencil sketch print depicting marines assaulting a Japanese line by F. Miller. CONDITION: no wear.
10) A small book titled “PROVISIONAL MACHINE-GUN FIRING MANUAL 1917”. CONDITION: light wear overall.
11) A small book titled “BATTLE-FIELDS OF THE MARNE 1914”. CONDITION: light wear overall. (02-16435-6/BF). $300-500.
