PARLOR RIFLE. Cal. 177. NSN. Bbl. 28 7/8". Zimmerstutzen single shot parlor rifle mfg. by Miller & Val. Greiss of Munchen, Germany. Top flat of the heavy octagonal bbl. features full length wavy lien matte engraving and in marked "MILLER & VAL. GREISS, MUNCHEN." within a panel towards the breech. Bbl. tang exhibits engraving with a side portrait of a man. Floorplate assembly and lever exhibit diamond and dot pattern engraving, with the lever and upper buttplate tang exhibiting floral motifs. Bbl. and double set triggers exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with the front & rear sight assemblies, loading assembly, lever, floorplate, and buttplate exhibit a reapplied case color hardened finish. Wood buttstock has been sanded and revarnished, featuring checkering at the wrist, large cheek rest, a floral motif carved at the forearm tip, as well as a standard Schuetzen style buttplate. Right side of stock is carved "Josef Pirzer". Ramped bead front sight with diopter rear sight. CONDITION: fine, as restored, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied finishes overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock is excellent overall, as sanded and revarnished, exhibiting some scattered marks from handling and storage overall, as well as a crack that stems from the bbl. tang and runs along the left side of the wrist.
