SHIP’S COMPASS.
1) MINE DETECTOR. An iron bound wooden box stenciled on the outside, “SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY SCR-625-C ORDER NO. 17734-PHILA.-45-08 SERIAL NO. 5258”. Box measures approx. 28" x 9" x 14 1/2" & contains a regulation US mine detector & ancillary equipment w/ some spare tubes & parts. CONDITION: detector shows light general wear but has not been tested to determine if it functions. Box shows moderate wear. (02-15735/BF).
2) GAS MASK BOX. Box measures approx. 8 1/4" x 13" x 7 3/4". It is covered in olive drab paint & has a label that reads, “GAS MASK SAFETY SERVICE DAVIS EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT CO., INC. NEW YORK”. There is also a decal that reads, “STANDARD SAFETY EQUIPMENT CO. CHICAGO, ILL. - - - NEWARK, N.J.”. The interior of the box contains a filtration canister & associated straps for the gas mask but there is no face mask included. CONDITION: box is solid & shows light to moderate wear. Canister shows light wear. (02-15736/BF).
3) SEMAPHORE. A US Navy semaphore light of a type & style that was used during the D-Day Invasion. The metal box measures approx. 14" x 9 1/2" x 10" & is painted black. The attached label reads, “Multi-purpose Signaling Light Type A N.D. Spec. 17L15 PORTABLE LAMP & EQUIPMENT CO. PITTSBURGH, PA. Contract No. NXSS-44939 Date: December 27, 1943”. Box contains 1 semaphore light for signaling & associated equipment. CONDITION: box shows moderate wear. Light shows light wear. Semaphore light has not been test for functionality.
4) SEMAPHORE. A US Navy semaphore light of a type & style that was used during the D-Day Invasion. The metal box measures approx. 14" x 9 1/2" x 10" & is painted black. The attached label reads, “MULTIPURPOSE SIGNAL LIGHT TYPE A BUSHIPS DWG 9000-S6405-73027-ALT-0 PORTABLE LAMP & EQUIPMENT CO. PITTSBURGH, PENNA. CONTRACT No. NXsx - 71350”. Box contains 1 semaphore light for signaling & associated equipment. CONDITION: box shows light wear & light shows light wear. Semaphore light has not been test for functionality. (02-15737(2)/BF).
5) COMPASS. A fine quality ship’s compass housed in a gray painted wooden box that measures approx. 13 1/2" x 13 1/2" x 7 3/4". An attached label reads, “U.S. NAVY - BU. OF SHIPS MARK 1 N NAVY STD. 7 1/2" ILLUMINATED COMPASS MADE BY THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK. N.Y. U.S.A.”. Compass itself has a similar marking around the top rim. CONDITION: compass appears fully functional but has not been calibrated or tested. Box shows moderate wear. (02-15738/BF). $600-900.
