CONDITION. Cal. 52 Rimfire. S# 11357. The 22" tapered rnd. bbl. has musket type 3 leaf sight at rear. S# is on pivoting breechblock w/ pullout latch & shrouded firing pin. Island front spring lock has Joslyn name & address in front of hammer as well as "1864". Walnut stock is iron mounted & saddle ring bar is affixed to left side. Two "FDL" inspector's marks are stamped above the bar. "FDL" is also stamped on left rear of bbl. CONDITION: fine to very fine. Bbl. retaining most of its original blue. There's a considerable amount of case hardening color on breech mechanism & lock, perhaps as much as 70%. Stock retains nearly all of its original oil finish w/ open grain. Inspector markings are sharp. Shiny bore has scattered pitting. Lock is crisp. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Kenneth Horn (Grandson of JC Higgins). (01-20638/MGM). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
