CALIBER REVOLVER. The Garrison belt and the various components are russet leather. The 1 3/4" wide belt is shown on page 763 of U.S. MILITARY HOLSTERS AND RELATED ACCOUTREMENTS by Edward Scott Meadows. The belt assembly consists of the belt with square brass buckle. The belt is marked on backside. "R.I.A. 1904 T.C C.W.W." The holster which is embossed "U.S." on the front of the body is also marked "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1903" and indistinct inspector's mark. Tip of flat is marked "J.P.R.". The flap is retained by a brass finial and the belt loop is secured by 3 brass rivets. The holster tip has a brass ring secured by a riveted strap. Raw hide leg thong is present. Two strap saber hanger with brass hook. Long strap is unmarked. Short strap marked "R.I.A. 1904 T.C". 12 Round cartridge box with wooden insert. Flap is embossed "U.S.". Flap is secured by brass finial. Box is marked on back between the two belt loops "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1910 H.E.K.". CONDITION: the set is in good to very good overall condition with light wear and flexing plus some scattered areas of light staining. The belt buckle and saber hook have some loss of original finish while maintaining a good appearance. Stitching on holster and cartridge box is in generally very good tight condition.
