MONARCH RANCH: 4-Day Kayak Fishing Trip On Devils River for Two People

Monarch Ranch is offering a 4-day/3-night self-guided kayak fishing trip for two people down the beautiful Devils River in southwestern Texas.

The Devils River is part of a unique ecosystem on the edge of the Edwards Plateau and is a 100% spring-fed river that is considered one of the last wild and pristine rivers in Texas. The river boasts an impressive smallmouth bass population in addition to largemouth bass, catfish, spotted gar, and several varieties of panfish.

Arrivals will be late afternoon the first day to learn about the river and property. Day two and three will feature self-guided kayaking and fishing on the crystal-clear Devils River. On day four you can fish the river area near the lodge before departing for home. Lodging will be provided at the Monarch Ranch, located on the river's banks.

Transportation will be provided upriver daily, and kayakers will end their trip at the Monarch Ranch. Kayaks will be provided or you may bring your own. Lodging will be provided. Transportation to and from the ranch, food and beverages, fishing licenses, bait, and tackle will not be provided. A kitchen, barbecue pit, and fire pit are available for use.

Monarch Ranch is located thirty miles upstream from Lake Amistad, near Comstock, TX.

Please note that there are a few unnavigable spots that will require the dragging of your kayak for short distances.

The trip must be taken in 2024 and must be scheduled with the donor at least eight weeks in advance.

HSCF thanks Monarch Ranch for this 100% donation.
