MOSTLY RUSSIAN/MOSIN STOCK LOT.

This lot consists of 13 various Mosin Nagant stocks, one Argentine 1891 Mauser stock, one AVT-40 stock & 13 assorted military rifle handguards. 1-6. Six of the Mosin stocks are for the 91/30 model. 3 of these 91/30 stocks have handguards & two have cleaning rods. five of these stocks also have buttplates but one does not. Four of these stocks appear to Soviet overhauled examples w/ shellac finish. One stock shows a series of notable wrist cracks on the left side. Otherwise the stocks show varying degrees of flaking shellac, a few armorer repairs, scattered dings & handling marks. The other two 91/30 stocks appear to be prewar one piece Izhevsk stocks that were reissued by the Finns. These stocks show scattered dings & handling wear. 7. the seventh Mosin stock is an early M38 stock w/ screw in sling slots & the longer handguard. This stock has both bands, an earlier buttplate & handguard. This stock was sanded at some point, it shows three notable repairs, the first is a large epoxy repair near the left side of recoil lug, the second a large toe repair w/ brass reinforcements & the last repair is a length wise handguard repair. Otherwise this stock shows scattered handling wear & the buttplate has a reblued finish w/ oxidation. 8. the eighth Mosin stock is an Izhevsk M44 stock that retains its recoil lug, nosecap & bandkeepers. The right side of the stock has an Izhevsk roundel. This stock shows a worn shellac finish w/ flaking throughout, a circular repair on butt, scattered scratches, dings & handling wear. 9. the ninth Mosin stock is a Chinese Type 53 carbine stock w/ handguard, buttplate, bandkeepers & recoil lug. This stock shows heavy handling wear from the years w/ flaking finish, dings, dents & scratches. 10. the tenth Mosin stock is a stripped Imperial M91 stock w/ a Russian roundel & German Deutches Reich cartouche. This stock was heavily cleaned & sanded. The stock otherwise shows a couple grain cracks, scattered dings, dents & handling marks.11. the eleventh Mosin stock is a stripped Finnish Mosin stock likely for an M27 w/ square finger joints. This stock shows some handling wear & a Finn plug repair. 12. the twelfth Mosin stock is another 91/30 stock that was heavily cleaned. This stock shows a few dents, scattered dings & handling marks. 13. the thirteenth Mosin stock is an unknown cutdown Finnish stock that measures 35 3/4". This stock is missing the bottom half of the butt & shows dings, dents & handling wear. The ASVT-40 stock is a Soviet refurb stock w/ the A marking & the number "8372" on the left side. This stock includes the buttplate, rear sling swivel, cleaning rod, lower part of heat shield & handguard. This stock was sanded & shows a a crack at front of handguard, crack behind receiver & a patch repair in right grasping grooves. Stock otherwise shows moderate handling wear. The Argentine 1891 Mauser stock has a faint Argentine cartouche on the right side of the butt. The stock was sanded at some point, it is missing some large chips at front & shows several epoxy repairs. The stock otherwise shows scattered staining, scratches, dings & handling marks. 1. the first loose handguard appears to be for a Finnish M28/30 Mosin. It shows light wear. 2. & 3. the second & third loose handguards are for 91/30 Mosin rifles w/ one appearing to be Finnish & the other Russian refurb. These handguard show scattered wear. The remaining five handguards are mixed & likely for Mauser or Mosin variants. One handguard shows a chip at front but they otherwise rate good to very good. (02-16809-3/MJC). $300-500.
