Lever action rifle manufactured circa 1881 - 1883. Features 28" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, buckhorn sights, straight grip, curved steel buttplate. Bore is very good condition. Retains 60% blued finish, turning brown at forward portions of receiver, along edges of barrel flats, top tang, finger lever. Some bare metal showing on sharp edges or where moving parts rub. Sides of receiver show visible scratches, tiny dents around pin locations. Bluing on buttplate has mostly turned brown from patina, with small areas of thin light rust. Most screw heads show some marring. Forend is good condition, with dents showing darker colors. Butt is good condition, dented & scratched, good fit to tang & buttplate. Both pieces of wood appear lightly sanded and have a thin coat of varnish applied. Lever operates smoothly. Two line barrel address appears shallow but even & readable.
