Marlin Model 1893 Lever Action Rifle, #210250, .38-55 CF cal., 30" round barrel with large German-silver blade front and buckhorn rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1887-89-93 patent dates on top, caliber at breech, "Special Smokeless Steel" at left, has full-length magazine tube below; receiver has right-side loading and ejection, loop operating lever, is marked "Marlin Safety" on top flat and "Model/1893" at upper tang. Varnished walnut forend has a steel nosecap, matching buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Mfg'd ca. 1900. Condition is fine retaining approx. 85% thinning barrel blue, mag tube 10% blue with smooth brown patina; receiver, lever, hammer and buttplate show softly-mottled case colors but have mostly silvered-out. Stocks are sound with pleasing color, general use marks, shallow gouge at belly of buttstock, most original varnish. Edges and markings are sharp. Action is crisp, bore is bright with light frosting and deep spiral rifling. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)
