'Take-Down' lever action rifle manufactured circa 1904. Features 26" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, buckhorn sights, straight grip, curved steel buttplate. Bore is good condition, visible pitting, strong rifling. The action appears case colored, now faded to a slightly mottled gray or silver color, some dulled & faded blue or gold case colors visible on right side of receiver and in protected areas on lever, small areas of pitting on lever. Barrel and magazine tube are blued, retaining majority coverage of a finish that has mostly turned gray or brown, with scratches & scuffs, small areas of patina. Loading gate shows lots of bright blue. Receiver and receiver extension display many small impact dents to bottom in area of takedown latch. Buttplate is bare metal, showing brown color from patina. Screw heads show marred slots. Wood is good condition, varnished, overall good fit to metal, scratches & shallow dents, shallow gouges on wrist & butt, chip missing from forend. Action operates smoothly. Markings are crisp, except where dents partially cover serial number.
