American made, the Marlin 1895G Lever-Action Rifle, chambered in 45-70 Gov't, originally designed as a "Guide Gun" for defense against large predators as well as a fast-handling hunting rifle for large game in heavily wooded areas. This 1895G has an 18.5" ported, blued steel barrel and receiver, with a checkered walnut buttstock and forend. The buttstock has a straight grip and a ventilated recoil pad with Marlin logo. The half-length magazine tube holds 4 rounds. It features side ejection, and the gun comes drilled and tapped for attaching a scope mount. It sports a Patridge type front sight with a very visible white line. The semi-buckhorn folding rear sight has been removed (replaced with a slot blank) and a peep sight has been installed where the receiver was drilled and tapped just in front of the hammer. A smooth trigger, rectangular lever loop, push button safety, sling swivel studs and serrated hammer spur round out this classic. LOP is 13.5". Bore looks very good but needs cleaned. Metal finish looks good with only very minimal signs of handling. Wood stocks look great with almost no signs of use. Comes with sling swivels and an Uncle Mike leather sling. Condition is NRA Excellent **Modern Firearm**
