The rear sight is an adjustable elevation semi-buckhorn.. grip/stock configuration & condition: the refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, straight wrist grip, 9-rib forend, and a checkered smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate shows patina and moderate handling wear. The furniture shows pressure dings, scuffs, and scratches. Many of the blemishes have been sanded over and refinished. The lop measures 13. 5" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are two cracks running from the upper tang and one running from the lower tang. The furniture rates in fair to good condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: originalbore condition: the bore is grey and the rifling is worn. There is mild pitting throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 10% of it's original finish as most has turned to patina. The finish shows edge wear, scratches, patina, and small spots of oxidation. The screw heads are lightly tooled and retain turnable slots.
