Pre or Early WWII era German military toggle locked recoil operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Luger. "42" code on receiver indicates manufacture circa 1938-1940. No import marks observed. Features polished re-blued finish, 4" barrel, dovetailed inverted 'V' front sight with witness-marks, 'v' notched rear sight, smooth crescent trigger, knurled charging knobs on the rear toggle link, manual safety on the left side of the frame, knurled push button magazine release, steel frame with lanyard loop & stock lug, and two-piece finely checkered wood grips. Most observed numbers match, with sideplate numbered "54". Bore is very good condition overall with few tiny pits. Appears heavily polished before refinishing, with trigger & safety blued, erosion of markings with major marks still readable. Retains 90% re-finish with edge losses & handling marks. Some small dents or pits in metal visible under refinish, as well as sanding marks not polished out before bluing. Grips are very good, tight to frame. Markings include Waffenamt 135, 'byf' on toggle. MArkings show erosion from rework process. Included magazine is bright metal, with aluminum plug numbered "6396k". Magazine catch spring broken or missing. Includes good condition brown color leather hard shell full flap holster, marked on back "N. BURGHARD / PASING / 1916" Condition is NRA Good++ (as reblued, broken spring) *** C&R Firearm ***
