SN: 8444k Rare very late production commercial semi-automatic hammerless pistol chambered in 9mm Parabellum, dated 1940. Features a blued finish, 8" barrel, dovetailed inverted 'v' front sight, 'v' notched rear sight, smooth crescent trigger, knurled charging knobs on the rear toggle link, manual safety, push button magazine release, 8 round nickel plated magazine with wood base(unmarked), steel frame with lanyard loop & provisions for a shoulder stock, and two piece finely checkered walnut grips. The pistol is numbered in the military fashion with full serial number of "8444k" stamped on the front of the frame, "8444" stamped on the underside of the barrel & on the left side of the receiver, and the last two digits "44" stamped on various small parts. All serial numbers are matching with the exception of the magazine which is unmarked. The barrel, receiver and breech block are proofed with the later style "Eagle/N" commercial proof acceptance mark. This pistol has also been stamped with the British import stamp [crown]/an interlaced "GP" on the frame, rear toggle link & on the top of the breech black. It retains approximately 93% of it's blued refinish showing light holster wear, handling marks and the barrel appearing to have a different finish & possibly a forced matched serial number. Action is strong, bore is pristine and the wood grips are good.
Condition is near NRA Excellent as refinished.
