Mauser C96 'Red Nine' 9mm SN: 58121
'Model 1915' Imperial German Army contract single action semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm, manufactured circa 1915-1918. Though their standard sidearm was the P.08, during WWI the Imperial German Army ordered 150,000 C96 pistols chambered in 9mm Parabellum to offset the slow production of the Luger pistol. Features a blued finish, 5.5" barrel, blade front sight, tangent rear sight graduated to 500 meters, smooth trigger, small ring hammer, manual safety on the rear of the grip frame, integral 10 round box magazine, steel frame with lanyard loop on the butt, and two-piece 27-groove walnut grips with red painted "9"s branded into each panel. Includes a wooden holster, shoulder stock which bears the number "210" on the upper tang and shows a repair to the to lid. Serial numbers on the pistol are all matching with the exception of the floorplate. Pistol exhibits approximately 80% of it's blued finish showing honest wear/thinning. Action is crisp, the bore shows light pitting throughout and the matching wood grips are very good. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***C&R Firearm***
