SN: 965107. Rare French occupation Mauser HCs pistol. Production of the Mauser HSc .32 ACP pistol continued under French occupation at the Oberndorf factory from 1945 to 1946 using remaining parts and newly assembled components for French military forces in the First Indochina War. Guns made for military use were given a phosphate finish. The French phosphate finish is more of a grey color, rather than the greenish color of German production. This pistol correctly features a distinct "RW" proof stamp (or stylized WR monogram) stamped on the left trigger guard where it meets the frame, and correctly lack standard German military inspection and acceptance stamps. production estimates put the total at about 15,000. Standard Mauser markings on the left slide with Mauser banner, magazine floorplate marked with Mauser banner. Checkered wood grips are good/sound with handling wear, the bore is excellent/bright with strong rifling, the slide action is smooth and the gray phosphate finish is mostly all there with the exception of a 3' patch of dark patina/rust on the forward left slide.
NRA condition-Good. C&R Firearm.
