Antique Moore's Patent No. 1 ''Crab Claw'' Single Shot Spurtrigger Derringer, #1107, .41 RF cal., 2.5'' teardrop-shaped barrel with blade front sight, marked ''Moore's Pat. F.A. Co., Brooklyn, N.Y.'' on top flat, twists to side on bottom hinge for cartridge loading/extraction; brass (or bronze) frame has integral spurtrigger sheath and bag grips, right-side barrel release button, hammer with distinctive knurled split-spur sighting notch. Pistol features overall floral scroll engraving, plus fletched arrows on either side of barrel, a peony-like flower atop the breech, checkered oval panels on grip sides, and a large, fancy shield-shaped panel enclosing checkering along the backstrap. Mfg'd ca. 1860-65, likely originally with blued barrel and silver-plated frame. Condition is very good+. Metal surfaces retain no original finish, but are smooth and clean with sharp markings and engraving and light wear. Action is smooth; bore is bright with sharp rifling; barrel hinge is tight. This First Model is scarce as only about 3,000 were mfg'd. Est.: $600-$800. (Antique)
