Revolver. Single-Action. 7-rd capacity. Civil war era revolver manufactured in Brooklyn N.Y. 1861-1863. Estimated production of 5-8,000. 3.75 octagonal barrel. The barrel and cylinder swing out to the right for loading by pushing a button to the right of the hammer. Serial number on barrel lug. Top of barrel stamped "D. Moore. Patent Sept. 18 1860". "F 20" stamped on rear of cylinder. Ejector rod, and front sight are missing. Frame is factory engraved with scrollwork. Silver finish on frame has worn off down to the brass with traces remaining. Blued barrel and cylinder are in the white with numerous scratches/dings. Bore is rusted but has strong rifling. Cylinders are ok. Wood grips have two 1/4" chips by the fore strap. Cylinder does not index (hand issue) Hammer locks up intermittently and sticks. Markings are clear. NRA Condition-Fair. Antique firearm.
