American made magazine fed bolt-action rimfire sporting rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle. The Model 142A was produced circa 1949-1957 in New Haven, CT. Rifle features a blued finish, an 18" slightly tapered barrel, military style protected post front sight, rear sight mount on the left side of the receiver (sight removed), serrated curved trigger, magazine release paddle at the rear of the magazine well, serrated toggle style safety lever at the rear of the receiver, and a turned down and swept back collard bolt handle. The walnut furniture consists of a smooth round knob pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, side-mounted sling swivels on the forend and shoulder stock, black polymer trigger guard with finger grooves at the wrist, serrated black plastic butt plate, and a fold-down black plastic forward pistol grip. The original blued finish retained is approximately 82% with general thinning, edge wear, and handling marks. Metal displays no deformation, but there is light oxidative speckling on the metal components. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The furniture wood is in good condition with thinning finish, some small dings, and normal handling marks. Rifle includes no magazines, and a green nylon sling.
Condition is NRA Good.
