American made bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle, and manufactured in New Haven, CT. The Model 42B was in production from 1938 until 1941 with the same basic specifications as the Model 42A. The Models 42A and 42B were redesigned with a new 'Master Action' that utilizes a shorter bolt and receiver. Rifle features a blued finish, receiver drilled and tapped for optic and sight mounting, an approximately 23" round barrel, S101/106 front sight with four inserts (missing hood), S102 fully adjustable sporting rear sight, serrated curved trigger, turned down bolt handle, serrated magazine release lever on magazine, and a rear receiver mounted serrated manual safety lever. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth full-length semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend with a quick disconnect sling mount, quick disconnect sling mount on the bottom of the shoulder stock, finger grooved polymer trigger guard, and a serrated metal butt plate with a hinged trap door for a spare magazine. The original blued finish retained is approximately 97% with light handling blemishes, very light edge wear, and thinning around the mgazine well. Metal displays some slight deformatio in some of the screw slots, and the were a few very sparse oxidative speckling ont the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle. Furniture wood is in good to very good condition with some handling marks and light impressions. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. Rifle includes two magazines total.
Condition is NRA Good.
