American made single-shot bolt action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle ammunition, and manufactured in New Haven, CT. Model B was produced from 1930 until 1932 as Mossberg's first single-shot firearm. Rifle features a blued refinish, approximately 22" round tapered barrel, dovetailed blade front sight with white paint, elevation adjustable rear sporting sight, smooth curved trigger, turned down bolt handle, two-piece bolt with a stepped cocking knob (manual cocking), metal trigger guard, and a knurled take-down screw. The walnut-finished birch wood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, and a smooth metal butt plate. The blued finish retained is approximately 80% with edge wear, handling blemishes, and the finish taking on a mottled blue/brown patina. Metal displays no deformation, but there was scattered pin-prick pitting observed on the rifle's entirety. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright showing wear and slight peppering. Furniture wood is in fair to good condition with scattered handling blemishes, and a small crack behind the receiver. Most of the markings are sharp and clear.
Condition is NRA Fair to Good.
