NEW LAND PATTERN FLINTLOCK PISTOL DATED 1812

W/ DUTCH EAST INDIA COMPANY STAMP. Cal. 65. NSN. Bbl. 9" rnd. w/ London black powder proofs & crowned “7” & “3” at rear. Lock w/ serpentine cock, bridled frizzen & feather spring w/ sm. spear finial is line border engraved & has rampant lion stamp in front of cock & “1812” behind. Both bbl. & lock are in original flint config. Walnut stock attaches to bbl. w/ side bolt & is brass mounted. Mountings are typical of the 1810-1830 period. Steel ramrod is attached to bbl. w/ swivel. Dutch East India Co. stamp is on top of grip above lock plate tail. CONDITION: metal parts w/ some cleaning are now medium brown patina, cock a possible replacement w/ new aged screw. Wood shows considerable repairs w/ added pieces on left side under side plate. Brass nicely toned. Rusted bore. Lock operable. (01-19433/MGM). ANTIQUE. $700-900.
