Master guide Phil Wilson and his New Zealand Hunting team offer this is traditional physically challenging but successful 4-day hunt for 2 bull tahr hunt and 2 hunters plus 2 non-hunters in the Mt Cook National Park region of the Southern Alps.
Stay on a private sheep station then 4x4 into a remote valley to hunt on a day-to-day basis. The High Country Sheep Station is a 4-hour drive from Christchurch International Airport where your pickup and return will be. Phil has been guiding and hunting there for over 40 years.
The accommodation is rustic with home style meals cooked by your guide. If the non-hunters require better accommodation this can be upgraded to our main lodge for $1000 per person. Although there are only tahr on the Station. within a 1-hour drive you have access to hunt Red Stag, NZ Wapiti, Elk, Fallow, Ram, and Goat.
There is a helicopter available if required. however this is not included in your hunt package.

Shipping arrangements and payments are the responsibility of the winning bidder. HSC assumes no responsibility or liability of shipped items. No merchandise items will be shipped until HSCF receives confirmation of full payment. Merchandise will be shipped within thirty (30) days after auction closes and payment confirmation is verified.

All sales are final. No returns will be accepted. Winning bidder authorizes HSCF to charge their credit card for the full amount of the winning bid upon close of the auction. Payments will not be accepted from any third parties outside of a successful qualified bidder nor may the responsibility for any transaction be transferred to a third party.

WHO WE ARE
Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of our hunting heritage. Our members come from a diverse background and have a wide variety of hunting, fishing, outdoor and other interests. But they all have one thing in common-their passion for the outdoors, a love of hunting, a commitment to the responsible management of our national resources, the education of future generations and the responsibilities of being hunter-conservationists.
How do we effect change?
HSCF has awarded 748 scholarships totaling $3.56 million dollars. We conduct youth outdoor education programs, career training, hunter education, and field experiences throughout the year. HSCF has provided over $4 million in grants for hunter-funded conservation initiatives including research, habitat protection, species proliferation, wildlife management, water projects, urban sprawl projects, anti-poaching campaigns and other efforts.
HOUSTON SAFARI CLUB
Houston Safari Club (HSC) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to legislative and policy initiatives that may affect the future of hunting. HSC supports initiatives that protect the tradition of hunting and hunters’ rights. We take an active role in efforts to effect policy, protocols and legislation. HSC collaborates with legislators, key opinion leaders, policy groups, professional organizations and governments at home and abroad.
LIVE AUCTION RULES
-When bidding from the floor, raise your hand high and, if necessary, stand to get the attention of the auctioneer or one of his spotters.
-The auctioneer and his staff are responsible for the auction. Their rules must be followed explicitly. All decisions of the auctioneer will be final. The auctioneer and staff will decide any disputes regarding the bids during the live auction.
-Asking questions ahead of time is encouraged. speak with the donor, visit their booth (if they are an exhibitor) and check their references. HSCF supports and promotes hunts and trips from donors who are members in good standing with their local and national hunting associations.
-Some items, as components of donated hunts, may or may not be included unless specified. This may pertain to travel expenses to and from destination; hotel and meals before and after the hunt; alcoholic beverages; trophy dipping, packaging and shipping; gratuities and other items. Please review the details for each auction item.
-Most hunt donations, unless otherwise specified, are for the 2026/27 season. Special arrangements other than as set forth in the auction description are expressly between the donor and the auction winner.
-Some non-hunt donations may require delivery and installation at your expense.
-It is the bidder’s responsibility to read the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability for Goods & Services. By bidding on any auction item, whether in person or online, the bidder agrees that they have read, understand and agree to the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability.
