BACKMUND. Cal. 16 Ga. / 9.3x72R. S# 1646. Bbls. 27", fitted w/ slightly raised full length matted rib holding flip up U notch rear & silver bead front sights. Retailer & "Munchen" engraved in milled out portion of rib. Bbl. flats stamped w/ German Nitro proofs for 16 Ga. & 8.8mm (groove diameter .360). Case hardened & nicely filed underlever action fitted w/ sm. back spring peninsular locks w/ rebounding serpentine hammers. Rifle selector is on top tang along w/ flip up aperture rear sight. Action & lockplates are nicely engraved w/ background of scrolling shaded acanthus as counterpoint to game animals; w/ bugling stag on left side of action; running roe buck on right. A pair of hares are on left lockplate & a fox is on right. Horn capped pistol grip buttstock of dark, well streaked & lightly figured European walnut measures 14" over horn ribbed buttplate. Stock features Bavarian style cheekpiece, point pattern checkering & acanthus engraved cartridge trap on toeline. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: bore diameter: right .668", left .670". Restriction: right .020" (Mod), left .030" (Full). Min. Wall Thickness: right .032", left .030". STOCKS: LOP: 14". DAC: 1 1/2"-. DAH: 2 11/16". No cast. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. CONDITION: good as partially refinished. Bbls. retaining all of good quality reblack. Action w/ traces of case hardening color is mostly pewter gray. Stocks exhibit light oil refinish over numerous marks. Checkering worn & gummed. Bores are very good, shiny, w/ some light frosting. Right bbl. has 2 or 3 sm. dents about 9" from breech end.
