NICELY REFURBISHED 20 GAUGE SIDELOCK EJECTOR,

SINGLE TRIGGER, KEYLOCK, LIGHT GAME GUN BY JOSEPH LANG & SON. Cal. 20 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 15701 (1914). The 26" dovetailed steel bbls. fitted with narrow game rib are engraved "Joseph Lang & Son, 108 New Bond Street, London." and "Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York, U.S.A." on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for 7/8 oz. shot. Bottoms of bbls. are stamped with serial numbers, "JL & S" and bottom of left bbl. is engraved "FOR 2 1/2 SHELL". Coin finished sidelock action is stocked to the fences and features nonautomatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold). Gold line tumbler end cocking indicators, Lang's unique detachable lock system with spring latch under hinged flap at rear of lockplates, and single non selective trigger. Opening flap exposes mortice for key (2 in case) to release lock from action. Action and locks are engraved with near full coverage classic English rose and scroll which is very well executed. "Joseph Lang & Son" is on each lockplate. Blued top lever and trigger guard are engraved with matching rose and scroll. Serial number is on trigger guard tang. Well marbled and lightly figured European walnut, straight grip buttstock measures 14 3/4" over thin Silver type pad. Stock features classic drop points, grip checkering and vacant oval. Matching splinter Southgate ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .618", L: .618". Restrictions: R: .011" (IC), L: .015" (MOD). Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .025", L: .026". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/16". DAC: 1 1/2-". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. LOP: 14 3/4". WEIGHT: 5 lbs. 14 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in relatively new tan leather case lined in green gaberdine cloth. Leather "Equicaca" label is stitched into lid. Case contains a black leather wallet holding 2 keys for gun lock. CONDITION: very good to fine as restored. Bbls. retaining over 95% good quality reblack. Engraving at rear of rib has been picked up. Action is cleaned to coin finish. Engraving still sharp and clear. Top lever and trigger guard retain nearly all of a reblue with some slight subsequent silvering. Stocks retain near all of an older oil refinish; checkering recut and is rather sharp. Pad is new. Bores are bright and shiny with some light frosting toward muzzle of right bbl. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Trigger only fires left bbl., first and does not set up for right. (Needs attention). There is a small patch repair to a crack behind right lockplate and repaired crack behind left. Case is very fine with some marks and rubs. (22-1177/MGM). CURIO. $10,000-15,000.
