SIDELOCK EJECTOR HEAVY GAME GUN. Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 41801 (1927). The 28 5/8" dovetailed bbls. fitted with slightly raised concave matted rib are engraved "Aug. LeBeau-Courally" "a Liege" on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped with 1957 Belgian nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers and "AUG LEBEAU". Bottoms of bbls. are engraved with Whalreyne steel info. Serial number is deeply stamped on reinforced splinter. Coin finished sidelock action features nonautomatic safety (S inlaid in gold), Purdey type third fastener, bushed strikers, and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with 80% coverage English style rose and scroll. Maker's name is on left lockplate and address is on right. Scroll engraved trigger guard and serial number on tang. Engraver's signature "M. Hannay" is on trigger plate. Fiddle figured and lightly marbled European walnut, straight grip buttstock is newly made (most likely by the factory) and measures 14 1/4" over checkered wood butt. Stock features drop points and closely spaced checkering with line borders on semi diamond grip. Matching splinter "Courally patent" ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .730", L: .731". Restrictions: R: .021" (MOD), L: .041" (EXTRA FULL). Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .026", L: .027". STOCK: DAH: 1 5/8". DAC: 1 1/8+". CAST: approx. 1/4" off. LOP: 14 1/4". WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 14 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun comes in high quality dark brown leather case with stitched leather corners in tan canvas outer cover with leather trim. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth and has new LeBeau-Courally leather label in lid. Case contains snap caps. CONDITION: fine as reconditioned at various times, most likely by factory. Bbls. retaining newly all of a best reblack. Action is coin finished and shows little cleaning. Engraving appears to be recut. New stocks retain essentially all of their fine oil finish with only a few minor handling marks. Forend wood is possibly original and refinished with checkering recut. Bores are bright and shiny with some scattered minor dents and show some rivelling. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Ejectors are strong and in time. (22-1127/MGM). CURIO. $6,000-10,000.
