MODEL NO. 106 SIDELOCK EJECTOR HEAVY GAME GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 40045 (1920 per factory letter). The 29 1/4" chopper lump bbls. are fitted with Briley thin wall choke tubes and are engraved "Fait pour Aduardo-Schilling Y Cia S. euc." on unmatted portion of slightly raised game rib. Tops of bbls. are engraved "Aug. Lebeau-Courally" "Fait a Liege". Bbl. flats are stamped with pre-1922 Belgian nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Bottoms of bbls. are stamped with steel type (Whalreyne) and choke information. Serial number is on reinforced splinter. Robust sidelock action is stocked to the fences and features nonautomatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold), Purdey type hidden third fastener, bushed strikers, gas vents, side clips and double triggers (front articulated). Maker's name and proofs are on watertable. "LCL" logo is on breech face. Action is engraved with full coverage of "Renaissance style" large flowing acanthus with rose and other floral highlights in a background of small scroll. There are also ribbons and drapes as accent. This pattern became a signature for LeBeau-Courally best guns over the years. Trigger guard with matching engraving has serial number on tang. Superb quality, most likely factory replacement, straight grip buttstock is of very fine burl figured European walnut, and measures 15" over thin red pad. Drop points are fluted. Point pattern checkering with line borders is on semi diamond grip and a vacant gold oval is on toe line. Matching splinter forend with Courally Patent ejectors has Anson release. Forend wood is original, and uncheckered central diamond is inlet with gold crest engraved "THE STANDARD" "PIGEON GUN" over an engraved pigeon. "TRADE MARK" is under pigeon. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .731", L: .734". Choke Tube Restrictions: R: .003", L: .028". Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .025", L: .024". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/16". DAC: 1 1/4". CAST: approx. 3/8" off. LOP: 15". WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 8 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a restored tan leather case with brass corners and round central medallion, in blue canvas, black leather trimmed, outer cover with snap closure. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth, and a new LeBeau-Courally leather label is in lid. Case contains 2 piece cleaning rod, a pair of snap caps, 2 Briley thin walled choke tubes, installation tool and "wire" for making safety automatic. Factory letter with original specifications. CONDITION: fine as refurbished. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a best reblack, engraving considerably softened. Action and lockplates show cleaning to coin finish; engraving is slightly softened. New buttstock retains essentially all of its fine rubbed oil finish, checkering is crisp. Forend wood is refinished to match, checkering recut. Bores are good, shiny over some light pitting and show some rivelling. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Ejectors are slightly out of time. Rear trigger binds and needs to be pulled very hard to fire. Case leather is renewed and is in fine condition as protected by its outer cover which shows some rubs. Most interior cloth is renewed.
