GAME GUN WITH HAND DETACHABLE LOCKS, AUTOMATIC EJECTORS & SINGLE SELECTIVE TRIGGER. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 01104 (circa 1914). Bbls. 28" dovetailed, fitted w/ slightly raised flat matted rib engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO" & "LONDON" on tops. Bottoms of bbls. stamped w/ Birmingham Nitro proofs for 1 1/4 oz. of shot, "CHOKE", & w/ steel type (Westley Richards). Case hardened dbl. OG backed boxlock type action w/ unique Westley Richards hand detachable Anson & Deeley locks (Patent use # 3893 are under hinged floorplate, post 1909). Action uses Westley Richards unique third fastener w/ extremely strong sliding bite engaging doll's head on rib extension. Action also features automatic safety ("SAFE" laid in gold) & patent selective "One Trigger". Action engraved w/ 90% coverage very well cut fairly lg. shaded scroll. "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO" is on each side. Blued top lever, floorplate & trigger guard engraved w/ matching scroll, S# is on long trigger guard tang. Superbly shaped & fitted replacement rnd. knob pistol grip buttstock of attractively marbled & figured European walnut measures 14 7/8" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. A vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release, wood is newly made matching buttstock. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: bore diameter: right .739", left .738". Restriction: right .018" (Light Mod.), left .028" (Mod.). Min. Wall Thickness: right .028", left .029", STOCKS: LOP: 14 7/8". DAC: 1 1/2". DAH: 2 7/16". Cast about 5/8" off. WEIGHT: 7 lbs., 8 oz. CONDITION: fine as partially refurbished. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a best quality rust reblack. Engraving very slightly softened. Action retains 50%-60% original case color. Silvered & grayed toward bottom & on fences. Blued action parts retain nearly all good quality reblue. Stocks retain nearly all of their superb hand rubbed oil finish w/ a few light marks. Checkering w/ very little wear. Bores are very fine, shiny w/ no noted repairs or problems. Ejectors are strong & in time. Trigger works well. (21-2545/MGM). CURIO. $3,500-6,500.
