NICELY RESTORED EARLY FOX CE GRADE SHOTGUN.

Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 15066 (circa 1910). The 30" bbls. w/ broad matted game rib are engraved "Krupp Fluid Steel Made By" "A. H. Fox Gun Co. Phila. PA" on tops. There are 1 1/2" triangles of scroll at breech ends. Bbl. flats stamped w/ grade & S#. Case hardened typical Fox action w/ rotary bolt features automatic safety & dbl. triggers. Action engraved in early Fox "C" style w/ 80% coverage varying size scroll within line & geometric borders. This scroll outlines oval vignettes of game birds on sides w/ a pair of feeding quail on left & snipe on right. Both under "AINSLEY H. FOX.". Bottom of action engraved w/ pointing setter in circular scene. Trigger guard w/ scroll on bow has S# on tang. Straight grip buttstock of well streaked European walnut measures 14 3/4" over serrated composition buttplate. Side panels are checkered & there is point pattern checkering at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Deeley type release. Iron marked "PATENTS" "PENDING". Action fitted w/ early style circular ejector trips. MEASUREMENTS: bbls.: bore diameter: right: .729", left: .728". Restriction: right: .003" (IC), left: .010" (LIGHT MOD). Minimum Wall Thickness: right: .036", left: .038". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 7/16+". LOP: 14 3/4". CAST: 0. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 6 oz. CONDITION: very fine as completely restored. Gun retaining nearly all good quality custom finishes on all surfaces w/ virtually no subsequent wear. Buttstock & forend good quality replacements. Bores are bright & shiny. Action is tight.
