Named John F. Costello Jr. Costello Jr., nicknamed Snow White, was a tail gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress. He was part of the 527th Bomber Squadron and 379th Bomb Group. Last mission flown was on July 19, 1944. Jacket has name tag and bomber wings on front left of jacket. Jacket has original tag and also has handwritten name "J. Costello" above the tag. This A-2 jacket was made by Perry Sportswear Inc and is a size 38. Zipper functions as intended and is marked "Crown". Knit cuffs and waist band have some minor wear and fraying on edges. Good overall condition for a 70+year old jacket. With bomber wings, photos, sweetheart jewelry and extra name tag. See photos.

We work very hard for the consignor as well as the buyer. The auction moves fast between the auctioneer, the on site bids, and the live internet bids. Because of this, one little delay, or what we call 'hiccup' in the internet connection, can cause an online bid to be missed. We apologize if this happens, but it is sometimes inevitable. Please be aware of this when attending a Proxibid auction.
Due to the element of Third Party Auctions and the reliability/unreliability of technical issues, we reserve the right to end an auction early or extend an auction as we see fit. We value our customers, both buyers and sellers, and try very hard to ensure an exciting, smooth, successful auction! We are happy and willing to work with you under any circumstances.
